Mission statement

The IAED is a group of Equine Dental Technicians and Veterinarians whose mission is to work together to improve equine dentistry all over the world. We use scientific based evidence and peer reviewed equine dentistry techniques to maintain an  IAED Certification Standard.  This Standard is the foundation for our independent and blind Certification Examinations, which include both written and practical exams.  IAED Certified Members have proven their skills to be of the highest caliber, and are required to maintain their Certification by attending continuing education lectures and workshops.

The IAED hosts its Annual Convention and Trade Show every January with industry leaders and vendors from around the world.  IAED Workshops and Certifications are held throughout the year, and are available upon request.  Please contact us for more information.

When you look for an Equine Dental Provider, you should look for an IAED member.

Created over 25 years ago by a group of Equine Dental Professionals to advance the level of knowledge and skills in the Equine Dental Industry, the International Association of Equine Dentistry boasts members in over 30 countries. The IAED is the largest trade organization in the world specializing in bringing the knowledge of veterinarians, technicians and practitioners together for the good of the horse.

We're achieving this through IAED sponsored educational opportunities, our unique certification standard, and by active involvement in equine dental legislative actions around the world.

We offer countless continuing education opportunities throughout the year. Including Workshops, Conventions and written material. Further, our certified members are required to attend 16 hours of CE dealing with equine dentistry every 2 years. We believe that education is paramount to a successful industry.

IAED certification is increasingly recognized as a world-wide industry standard for proficiency in Equine Dentistry. Our testing procedure was developed under the oversight of veterinarians in conjunction with practitioners who pioneered the tools and procedures that created what we consider modern equine dentistry.
